Four Roses OESQ Single Barrel Bourbon 9 Years 3 Months

Q is the most distinct of the Four Roses yeasts and when you find a good OBSQ or OESQ you want to go buy backup bottles!

Roses OESO is comprised of the E mash bill (75% corn, 20% rye and 5% malted barley) and the O yeast strain (rich fruit notes of fresh berries and cherries).

Smoke Wagon Uncut Unfiltered Straight Bourbon Whiskey Batch 90 56.42% Review

MGP offers multiple different mashbills and Smoke Wagon is using the 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley. The first thing that pop to me is the beautiful bottle and the detail that went into it.

Four Roses “Happy Holidays” OESK Single Barrel Bourbon 18 Year 5 Months 60.7% RS 38-3I

It’s a prefect example of an OESK with the K yeast spices shining! I get hints of the fruit sweetness that the side label suggests but the star of this barrel is the K yeast spice. The sweetness I got was a darker sweetness, plum and ripe cherries.

Woodford Reserve Double Double Oaked In-Depth Review

Woodford’s Double Double Oaked is an easy sipper and very pleasing. The nose and palate are great followed by a medium finish. Again amazed at the concentration of flavors in this lower proofed bourbon.

Four Roses “Kentucky Strong” Single Barrel Bourbon 16 Year 6 Months OESV 58.5% RN 36-3S Review

Taste – Strong oak dominates on first sip followed by ripe berry sweetness. Similar to the aroma, once the oak dissipates I get a lot of spice. Black pepper, leather and a slight caramel sweetness.
