Four Roses 2023 Limited Edition Bottle Design Released

Four Roses Limited Edition 2023 Front Label

Four Roses 135th Anniversary Bottle

The 2023 Four Roses Limited Edition bottle design has been released! This year marks the 135th anniversary of the Four Roses brand which was founded in 1888 by Paul Jones Jr. and the distillery is going to help celebrate with this bottle!

Each year Master Distiller Brent Elliot blends together the finest bourbon to create the Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch. These limited edition offerings are comprised of highly aged bourbon, normally 12+ years old, and contain 3 or 4 of the ten unique recipes Four Roses has to offer. Previous years of the limited edition are unique blends with all having their own personality and different flavor profiles. The beauty of having 10 different recipes to blend together are all of the flavor combinations that can be created! Four Roses started the Small Batch Limited Edition in 2008 (it was called Mariage and later changed to Small Batch Limited Edition in 2010) and has been a yearly release ever since.

The 2023 will be bottled at or close to 57.1% (114.2 proof) which would be tied for the highest proof ever released with the 2021 vintage. The front of the bottle will have the sleek looking 135th emblem on it. Analyzing the tasting notes on the back label, it looks like there will be a beautiful blend of some classic Four Roses flavors. Allspice, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, clove, honey and berries oh my! The recipes included in the 2023 limited edition will be released later this year. Just by looking at the aroma/tasting notes on the back label, I would guess some K (I think Brent loves the K recipes) and O yeast would be included in this. Perhaps this will be the first year OBSO will be included in this special release? We will have to wait to find out! Stay tuned…
